Matcha Notes is a product operated by Yahata Ventures ("we", "us", or "our"). We provide a platform for discovering, reviewing, and tracking matcha products through our mobile app and website at matchanotes.com. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at matchanotes@gmail.com.

We collect information you provide directly to us, including: • Account information: your email address, username, first name, last name, country, and profile photo when you create an account. • Content you create: reviews, ratings, tasting notes, journal entries, flavour tags, and photos you upload. • Wishlist and activity data: matcha products you save, follow relationships, and review likes. We also collect certain information automatically when you use our services, including device type, operating system, and general usage patterns to improve the app experience.

We use the information we collect to: • Provide, maintain, and improve Matcha Notes. • Display your profile, reviews, and activity to other users (where public). • Send notifications about activity on your account (likes, comments, follows). • Respond to your questions and support requests. • Understand how our services are used so we can make them better. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Your public profile information — including your username, avatar, reviews, and wishlist — is visible to other Matcha Notes users. You can adjust what is visible in your profile settings. We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider, and they process data on our behalf in accordance with their privacy policy. We may also share information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed within 30 days. Some anonymised, aggregate data may be retained for analytics purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Request correction of inaccurate data. • Request deletion of your account and associated data. • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data. Matcha Notes uses browser local storage and session storage to maintain your login session and preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

Matcha Notes is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Matcha Notes after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
